Are you a Gardening Spirit?
It’s time to take back our food and meet our neighbors. Transform your own neighborhood by planting a community garden in your front yard, in and around your community from schools to abandoned lots, plants want to grow.
More and more people are recognizing the importance of local food, food independence and supporting our communities at home. Imagine driving down your street, where the majority of homes host a front yard community garden, neighbors come together for potlucks, establish tool-sharing and community composting programs while creating safer, more beautiful neighborhoods. AND NO MORE HUNGRY CHILDREN!
We are creating models for how to grow food in unused public spaces that provide opportunities for people to experience fresh, healthy, organic food, and the power of community when we come together for a cause that’s greater than ourselves.
Open letter to Christy Clark, the BC Government & the people of BC.
I have a lasting solution to end hunger in BC to end all of our inner city hunger forever and for a fraction of the cost of existing programs that are falling far short of our hungry children's needs.
"Why is it we are outraged with hockey strikes and no one is out raged in minimum wages that are below the poverty line, or that we have nothing for hungry children? Do you think that the ones that are profiting form your low wages should be allowed to own your media because I believe there is outrage just that the media is not reporting it."
